You may be surprised to learn that hormonal health starts in the gut. Our gut health determines what nutrients we do or don't absorb from our food, whether or not we are able to properly eliminate artificial hormones and other toxins from our body, and what our brain chemistry is doing. All of these things will affect our hormonal expression. That's why nutritional health - including eliminating food allergies, rebalancing the ratio of good and bad gut flora, and healing the digestive system is essential to hormonal health. "What kind of changes can I expect to have to make?"
Treatment plans vary to reflect each individual's needs, but we can promise that all the recommendations will be reasonable and designed to meet you where you're at. You won't be asked to give up all your favourite foods or invest in dozens of supplements or superfoods. If it turns out you have a food sensitivity/intolerance, you might be asked to cut it out for a few weeks to see if eliminating it from your diet makes a difference, but you'll only ever be asked to give up a few things at once (you won't be stuck drinking green juice three times a day), and you'll always have the option to say no to our suggestions! We pride ourselves on respecting everyone's right to move at their own pace.
While we won't tell you to take dozens of supplements, you should expect to see a few recommendations on your personalized health action plan. That's because these days it's really hard to get all the nutrients we need from diet alone. Poor soil quality, pesticides, and other factors mean that our food just isn't as nutrient dense as it once was. As a result, almost all of us need to be taking at least some supplements in order to compensate for these deficiencies. Also, depending on the severity of your symptoms, you may want to take a higher therapeutic dosage of certain micronutrients in order to see results faster. Again, the recommendations will vary, but you can expect to spend between $50-$200 on supplements.
